Taylor Barfield is a freelance dramaturg and consultant who has worked with prestigious organizations including the Guthrie Theater, BMG, Portland Center Stage, the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, and Yale Repertory Theatre.

Previously, he served as Acting Literary Manager at Yale Repertory Theatre and Literary Manager at Two River Theater. He holds a B.A. in Molecular/Cellular Biology and English Literature from Johns Hopkins and both M.F.A. and D.F.A. degrees in Dramaturgy from Yale School of Drama.

Taylor's scholarly work explores how contemporary Black American playwrights re-imagine and re-stage Black theater history. His writing has been published in Vulture, TDF Stages, and the Marginalia Review of Books. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at NYU Tisch.

With his expertise in dramaturgy and cross-cultural storytelling, Taylor brings invaluable experience and insights to BAMAH.
